Fasthosts provides SaaS for Microsoft Office

UK-base Fasthosts recently started to provide Microsoft Office software as a SAAS service.

What is SaaS?

SaaS represents ‘Software as a Service’. Unlike a usual software which we purchase and installed onto our pc/laptops, SaaS provides the usage of software via the internet. No real installation is needed to be executed on the pc/laptops. We just need to access the SaaS when needed to use Microsoft Office over the internet.

So by subscribing to SaaS for Microsoft Office, we will practically pay a monthly fee from £4.99.

Will this kick start Microsoft Office as a SaaS? Maybe, if the connection to the services is reliable and fast plus hopefully in future, a smaller download of Microsoft Office components to run via the internet. And if Microsoft doesn’t think that SaaS of MS office infringe their license scheme.
