Mobile is like that

To me, MySQL been a awesome database system. Some say the most popular database in the Open Source Community. In cases some of you don’t know, Wordpress is using MySQL as the default database to store your blog contents and facebook uses it as well. The acquisition is said to approximately $1 billion and will strengthen Sun in the online Web database portfilo.

I am neither happy nor sad. This happens when a company like MySQL proves to be successful to attract attention of the big boys. I hope that SUN will provide the same open source spirit that make MySQL so successful and well love by developers.

Congrats to the the owners of Soundbuzz. Hopefully you made good money from this deal. I always try to support local start-up. Still remember one of the Soundbuzz owner, ex-MTV something was interviewed on the news paper during the dot-com boom. They really did a good job and remodel their business after the dot-com crash.
However, not sure why until now they are sticking with IE only. Using Firefox and Safari, I am unable to access their website to support them. (more…)
